How to Get the Front Panel Off a GE Hotpoint Washer
- 1). Disconnect the washing machine's power source. This is accomplished by unplugging the machine from the wall outlet, or turning off the breaker in your service panel.
- 2). Insert a flat-head screwdriver in the gap between the top and front panels, in line with the left side of the lid. Inserting the flat-head screwdriver depresses the spring clip that secures the front panel to the top panel.
- 3). Insert a flat-head screwdriver again in the gap between the top and front panels, this time in line with the right side of the lid to depress the second spring clip.
- 4). Tilt the front panel toward you, and then lift it up and off of the washing machine.
