    Engine

    • All three models featured the iconic Harley Davidson V-2, 4-stroke engine. As their names suggest, the FLH 1200 Electra Glide had 1206 cubic centimeters (cc) of displacement and an 8.0:1 compression ratio while both the FLH 1340 Electra Glide and FLHC 1340 Electra Glide Classic featured 1337 cc of displacement and a 7.4:1 compression ratio. The engines from all three bikes featured an air-based cooling system.

    Power

    • Just as its engine had slightly less displacement, the FLH 1200's maximum engine output was only 58 HP (5150 rpm). Meanwhile, the FLH 1340 models topped off at 67 HP (6000 rpm).

    Weight

    • Despite their different engine sizes, the FLH 1200 Electra Glide and FLH 1340 Electra Glide both had a gross weight (the mass of the bike with full oil and fuel tanks) of 760.6 pounds. However, the FLHC 1340 Electra Glide Classic was slightly more massive, weighing in at 767.2 pounds.

    Speed

    • Designed for touring and cruising (respectively), the FLH 1340 Electra Glide and FLHC 1340 Electra Glide Classic had modest top speeds of 93.2 mph. With its smaller displacement, the FLH 1200 topped off at only 83.9 mph.

    Fuel Capacity

    • Riders who chose the FLH 1200 over either of the FLH 1340 models may not have had as much speed or horsepower, but they didn't have to stop at the gas station as often. The FLH 1200's 6.6-gallon fuel capacity was over 25% larger than the 5.0-gallon capacity of the FLH 1340 bikes.
