How to Clean a Picture Window
- 1). Prepare your cleaning solution. Squirt two or three drops of dishwashing liquid into the bucket and add water. You can fill the bucket up nearly all the way. It should hold at least a gallon, and can hold as much as 5 gallons. There should not be very many suds.
- 2). Apply the cleaning solution to the window. Use a squeegee that has a wide head with strips of cloth attached to a sponge. The sponge soaks up the water and the cloth strips knock dirt loose and absorb the soap suds instead of just spreading them around. Use a "reverse-S" pattern to swirl the soap around and pick it up again.
- 3). Clean the squeegee after each "S" is complete by dipping it in the bucket to remove dirt.
- 4). Clean the window with a chamois. First, wet the chamois with warm tap water then wring it out. Polish every corner of the window in wide, circular motions until the window is dry and without streaks.
