Waking up in the morning to the delicious smells of gourmet coffee brewing in the kitchen, is heaven on earth for me. I typically cannot go a day without drinking a sweet cup of coffee, and crave it every single morning. I find myself using coffee as a reason to get out of bed, and relishing in that wonderful caffeine kick to get the day started! Recently I received a gourmet coffee gift basket from a dear friend and I have to say it was one of my all time favorite gifts!

As Christmas and the holidays are right around the corner, I cannot think of a better time for purchasing or making a gourmet coffee gift basket for someone you love! There are so many choices today for gourmet coffees picking just one may be tough. The great thing about a basket is you can put many different types of roasts and flavors in the basket for every taste palate. In fact, you can make a whole basket with just different roasts of coffee. Some people prefer a light roast where others prefer a heavy dark roast. For me, I like a nice medium roast that has a nice body, but not too much bitter taste to it.

Another great thing about gourmet coffee is the flavors! I'm currently drinking a chocolate raspberry coffee I received in the gift basket and it is almost like a dessert in a cup. Another classic favorite of mine is French vanilla. It has a sweet undertones without being too assertive. I also received caramel apple flavored coffee in the basket which is lovely to drink in the afternoon. Chocolate and mocha are also popular choices for gourmet coffee gift baskets.

My dear friend who gave me the basket also included some lovely biscotti and other coffee-related gifts. She put a darling set of four espresso cups with saucers and some pretty napkins for entertaining with. She also included a $10 gift card to Starbucks, which I love! The great thing about this gift is it gave me inspiration to give to others. I have several friends who love coffee and getting together at coffee shops to talk.

Even if you don't have a large budget putting together this type of gift is manageable. Instead of a basket you could even use a pretty bag or platter to place the gifts on. Giving the gift of gourmet just got a lot easier with the use of coffee.
