How to Remove Diesel Fumes From Dry Clean Only Clothes
- 1). Hand the piece of clothing from your doorframe so that you can access all sides and so the clothes are hanging freely.
- 2). Mist dry cleaning touch-up spray on the entire piece of clothing. The touch-up spray will help eliminate odors without damaging dry clean only clothes.
- 3). Let the clothes air dry completely. Smell them to determine if the diesel smell is gone.
- 4). Put the clothes in a home dry cleaning bag. Put a home dry cleaning sheet in the bag and seal the bag.
- 5). Put the bag in the dryer and set the dryer according to the home dry cleaning kit manufacturer's directions. They will normally require you to set it on medium heat for 20 to 30 minutes. The heat will release cleaning chemicals in the dryer sheet, which will remove odors from the clothes.
- 6). Remove the clothes and hang them to prevent wrinkles.
