    • Keeping windshield wipers in good working shape is critical to safe driving.man working on car image by palms from Fotolia.com

Your windshield wiper motor provides the power to your wiper blades to keep them moving across your window in the snow, sleet and rain. If your wiper motor dies, your blades will stop working and you will have a hard time seeing the road, creating a dangerous situation. Older car models will often have wiper blade motors made by American Bosch. American Bosch became AMBAC International and discontinued production of many of their wiper motors. To keep your blades moving, you'll need to find an American Bosch blade motor for sale on the Internet or your local auto shop.

    1950s Fords

    • Ford cars made in the 1950s used a 12-volt American Bosch Wiper Motor. The 12-volt Bosch is the only wiper motor that will fit the wiper mounting plate without need of adjustments. These wiper motors are hard to come by, and if you should find yourself in need of replacing one, your best bet is a salvage yard or a parts shop dealing in legacy parts.

    Jaguar XJR

    • Jaguar XJRs made between 1999 and 2003 use an American Bosch wiper motor, model number W0133-1656839. As of late 2010, the Bosch used in the Jaguar XJR can still be purchased new from some specialty parts dealers.

    Snow Cats

    • American Bosch wiper motors are not only used on cars; some models of snow cats use an American Bosch WWF wiper motor. American Bosch no longer makes the WWF, but replacement parts can be found at some snow cat retailers.
