    • 1). Disconnect the negative battery cable from the Jeep's battery. Use a Phillips head screwdriver to loosen the cable's clamp and place the cable away from the battery until the new speakers have been installed.

    • 2). Remove the speaker grille covers on either side of the Wrangler's dashboard using a trim panel removal tool.

    • 3). Remove the pair of screws securing each speaker into the dash with a Phillips head screwdriver.

    • 4). Pull the speakers from their dash mount and pull the wiring connections from the back of the speaker by hand.

    • 5). Connect speaker harness adapters to each set of speaker wires. The harness adapter will provide a uniform platform for installing aftermarket speakers.

    • 6). Connect the two 4"x 6" speakers to the speaker harness adapters.

    • 7). Place the speakers into the speaker mounts. Secure the speakers in the dash with the screws removed from the old speakers.

    • 8). Place the speaker grille covers over the speaker mounts and press them, by hand, into the dash. The covers will snap into place with moderate pressure around the perimeter of the grilles.

    • 9). Place the negative battery cable around the negative battery lead. Tighten the cable's clamp with a Phillips head screwdriver.
