Importance of Plastic Bumper Mold

In the past, we mostly use metal bumper in the automotive, but considering the cost and practical metal bumper is not so much economical and useful. So after the automotive industry development, people start to use plastic bumper instead of metal bumper. And this phenomenon already becomes a developing trend of automotive industry.

There is one very important point in the develop processes, that is plastic bumper mould which could produce plastic bumper for us.

Now let us talk about the bumper mold design, usually in China we adopt two basic structures. One is external parting, another is internal parting.

The External parting structure is relatively simple, the internal parting structure is more complex, but internal parting the structure is much stronger than external parting structure.

In the past, only premium car bumper use internal parting structure. But now customer requirement about the automotive appearance, this phenomenon drives the bumper design to internal parting from external parting.

Usually we call mould core B side, mould cavity a side. If the parting line located in B side, there is some design point for this parting line location.

If we adopt normal angle lift, eject structure will interface the angle lift at the bard of the mould fixed side, then will damage the mould.

In order to avoid the angle lift and mould fixed side impact, we could adopt below suggestion to avoid the impact happen.

l Angle lift moves together with the mould opening, that is to say, when bumper mold open, use the hydraulic cylinder to pull the stripper (also could use nitrogen spring ). But should keep the stripper position and the mould fixed side to be the balance position.

l As we know, plastic bumper product has deformability character; we could use the horizontal slider in the angle lift to pull in the product end. And use the end of the horizontal slider rail control schedule to make the plastic bumper part stays the mould barb of the fixed side.

l Open the bumper mold, let the plastic bumper product depart from the bumper mold cavity, and the bumper product stay in the mould core side.

l Then start ejects action, use the end of the horizontal slider rail to control the slider outward motion which make the product deformation restoration.

l Finally, keep upward ejection until the plastic bumper product be fully ejected.
