How to Hook Up an Amplifier in a Chevy Suburban Trailblazer Yukon
- 1). Lift the SUV's hood and disconnect the negative and positive battery cables from the battery terminals with a 10-mm wrench. Remove the negative cable and set it beside the battery.
- 2). Remove the positive battery cable and place the ring terminal from the amplifier kit onto the positive lead post. Replace the positive cable clamp over the ring terminal and tighten it to the positive post with the wrench.
- 3). Plug the power supply cable from the amplifier wiring kit into the ring terminal. Take the fuse from the ring terminal's fuse holder and keep it handy for future reinsertion.
- 4). Feed the power cable through the opening in the firewall on the right side of the engine compartment. The opening leads to the driver's side of the vehicle. Move to the inside of the SUV.
- 5). Grab the upper left corner of the main dash panel and pull it away from the dashboard. Pull the top of the panel to detach it across the length of the dashboard.
- 6). Push the headlight switch box through the dash panel to completely detach it from the SUV's dashboard. Set the panel aside.
- 7). Pull both of the levers located on the sides of the stereo dock. The levers secure the radio into the stereo mounting dock in lieu of screws or bolts into the stereo mounting bracket.
- 8). Pull the stereo from the dashboard. Disconnect the stereo wiring from the back of the unit.
- 9). Plug the stereo wiring into the leads of the wiring harness adapter. Plug the wiring harness adapter into the corresponding outlets on the back of the stereo.

Slide the stereo into the stereo dock and raise both of the two levers on the sides of the unit. - 13
Align the main dash panel with the dashboard. Insert the headlight switch box into the opening in the dash panel and snap it back into place. - 14
Press the dash panel against the dashboard firmly to snap it back into place. - 15
Route the signal cable and turn-on lead down the passenger side of the vehicle to the rear cargo area behind the rear seat. - 16
Lay the power cable from the foot-well on the driver's side of the vehicle to the rear cargo area of the SUV. - 17
Plug the signal cable and turn-on lead into the appropriate outlets on the amp. Connect the power supply cable to the power input. Insert the grounding wire from the amplifier wiring kit into the grounding output next to the power input of the amp. - 18
Choose a screw or bolt in the rear cargo area of the vehicle. Use a trim panel removal tool to lift the carpeting in the back of the vehicle to find a screw or bolt less than 20 inches from the amp, directly connected to the frame of the vehicle. Connect the grounding wire to the appropriate grounding point. Return to the engine compartment. - 19
Place the negative battery cable clamp back around the negative battery terminal. Tighten the cable's clamp with a 10-mm wrench. - 20
