How to Make Cement & Concrete
- 1). Collect all of the supplies needed from a local cement manufacturer. You will need to purchase the gravel, sand and limestone there. You can rent the kiln.
- 2). Put on your safety gear and measure out each supply. You need 1 part limestone, 2 parts sand and 3 parts gravel to make the cement mix.
- 3). Pour the gravel, sand and limestone into the kiln opening. Turn it on, and allow the machine to heat up to or above 1,000 degrees Celsius. Allow the elements to melt together for about 12 hours.
- 4). Add small amounts of water into the kiln as the materials continue to melt. This helps remove lumps. Add sand to thicken it up into a pasty material if it is too loose like liquid.
- 5). Add more gravel, stirring the cement with a dowel until it thickens.
- 6). Use the fresh cement mix immediately after making it so that it does not begin to harden before it can be used.
- 1). Put on all safety gear. Divide the materials into large buckets in the ratio of 3 parts gravel, 2 parts sand and 1 part cement.
- 2). Pour all materials into the wheelbarrow, and begin to stir with the dowel until thick.
- 3). Add small amounts of water gradually until the concrete is pasty, but not too loose or too thick. Add more gravel if it needs to be thicker.
- 4). Use the fresh concrete mix as soon as it is ready. It will harden and clump quickly, which will prevent its usage.
