How to Remove Pastel Chalk From a Carpet

    • 1). Vacuum the area where the pastel chalk is present as soon as possible. This will remove the chalk dust from carpet fibers, but it will not remove the pastel color.

    • 2). Combine 1 tbsp. liquid dishwashing detergent with 2 cups lukewarm water. Mix the ingredients with a spoon for 30 seconds until the detergent begins to form bubbles in the water.

    • 3). Dip a clean cloth into the solution and blot the area until it is moist. Continue to reapply the solution to the stain until the color is removed.

    • 4). Remove the detergent from carpet by dipping a clean kitchen sponge into 1 cup of cool water and blotting the area to remove the solution.

    • 5). Dry the area by blotting with a large clean water-absorbing cloth. Vacuum the area once the excess moisture is removed.
