How to Use Cardboard to Fold Clothes
- 1). Place a shirt on a clean, smooth, hard table that has been cleared. The shirt should be laid out washed, dried, wrinkle-free, with the entire front visible. Place a piece of cardboard, that is big enough to cover the entire front of the shirt, at the seam of one sleeve. At this point, only the sleeve should be exposed. . Fold the sleeve over the cardboard and carefully smooth it out so the sleeve does not move from the folded position. You may want to keep your fingers on the sleeve to hold it in place as you remove the cardboard. Repeat this process with the other sleeve.
- 2). Place the cardboard over one side of the shirt so half of it is covered. Fold the other side over the cardboard, taking care not to let the sleeve move out of place. Carefully pull out the cardboard as you did in Step 1, then place it over the bottom half of the shirt. Fold the top half over the cardboard and remove. Place the shirt in a dresser drawer to keep it neatly folded until you are ready to wear the clothing.
- 3). Place a pair of jeans or slacks flat on a table in the same manner as in Step 1, and cover one leg with a piece of cardboard. The cardboard should be big enough to cover the entire front of the jeans. At this point, half the clothing should be covered. Fold the other leg over the cardboard and pull out it out. Place the cardboard over the bottom half of the slacks and fold the top half over it. Remove the cardboard and place it over the bottom half once again, folding and removing in the same manner. Store the garment to keep it neatly folded.
- 4). Place a pair of socks on a table and put a piece of cardboard, measuring approximately 1-foot-by-3-inches, horizontally across the toe area of one sock. Fold the sock over the 3-inch width of the cardboard continually until it appears completely rolled up. Remove the cardboard and repeat the process with the other sock. Store the socks in your sock drawer to keep them neatly folded.
