    • 1). Remove the heat shield (if present) from the front underside of the tractor by removing the two retaining bolts on either side of the shield. Be sure to hold the heat shield firmly when removing the second bolt to prevent the heat shield from falling.

    • 2). Attach the left and right side hanger brackets to the tractor frame with the flanges facing outward. Each bracket attaches with 3 bolts that align with holes on the tractor frame. If bolts are present in the holes needed to attach the hanger brackets, remove these bolts and reuse them to attach the brackets.

Some tractor models have an engine mounting plate that overlaps the outside of the frame. If this is the case, use the front-most engine mounting plate hole as the rear attachment point for the hanger brackets, and use washers as shims between the hanger brackets and the frame for the two front attachment points.

Some tractor models have front suspension brackets attached to the front of the frame. If this is the case, remove attaching bolts as needed and reuse them to attach the hanger brackets. If the suspension bracket is attached to the outside of the frame, washers will have to be used as shims behind the hanger brackets at any points not common with the suspension bracket attachment (usually the rear attachment point).

    • 3). Bolt an angle bracket across the front of the hanger brackets using the top holes on left and right hanger brackets. Bolt a second angle bracket across the bottom of the hanger brackets with the flange pointing to the rear. Use the second-from-bottom holes on the left and right hanger brackets. Do not tighten these bolts yet.

    • 4). Bolt the pivot support bracket to the upper and lower angle support brackets using the two holes in each of the upper and lower angle brackets. Do not tighten these bolts yet. First tighten the four bolts attaching the angle support brackets to the hanger support brackets, and then tighten the four bolts holding the pivot bracket to the angle support brackets. Reinstall the heat shield if it was previously removed.

    • 5). Place the two angle lock bars together so all holes align. Insert the longer, pig-tailed end of the angle lock spring through the center holes of the bolted angle lock bars and bolt the assembly together using the endmost square hole.

    • 6). Insert the hooked end of the angle lock spring upward through the hole on the spring mount bracket attached to the pivot plate on the end of the channel assembly. Insert the channel lock bars down through the slot in the channel. Align 1-inch spacers on either side of the hole in the end of the angle lock bars and attach with a bolt.

    • 7). Insert the spring mount rod through the holes closest to the channel on either side of the pivot plate. Fix both ends with palnuts.

    • 8). Bolt the cable mount bracket to the square hole in the angle lock bar assembly. The bolt should face in the opposite direction of the bolt used to secure the lock bars together. Thread a jam nut approximately 3/4 inches onto the control cable cover at the uncapped end of the control cable. Insert this cable end through the round hole in the cable mount bracket and secure with a second jam nut.

Pull the ball end of the cable up through the cable end fitting and adjust so that the ball end sits in the curl of the cable end fitting. Secure the cable end fitting to the channel assembly by passing a bolt down through the cable end fitting, through the slot in the channel located beside the slot for the locking bar assembly, and through a 5/8-inch spacer. Secure with a lock nut.

    • 9). Attach the blade to the channel assembly by aligning the notched holes in the pivot plate with the holes in the bracket welded to the back of the blade, and passing the blade pivot shaft from the left side (when facing forward) through the aligned holes such that the bend in the shaft faces the top of the blade. Fix the blade pivot shaft with two cotter pins.

Remove the plastic cap and the first adjusting nut from the blade adjusting spring end. Thread the second nut about an inch down the threads on the spring end. Hook the other (hooked) end of the spring over the spring mount rod. Pass the threaded end of the spring through the hole at the top center of the blade. Attach with the removed nut and reinstall the plastic cap

Align the two holes in the end of the channel with the holes in the pivot support bracket. Pass the channel pivot pin from the left side through a washer and then through the frontmost holes in the channel and pivot bracket. Secure the straight end of the channel pivot pin with a cotter pin.

Insert the end of the lift handle rod that has an attached welded bracket and pin through the hole on the left side of the back end of the channel assembly, while simultaneously passing the bracket pin through the hole on the pivot support bracket. Secure the end of the lift handle rod with a cotter pin. Apply a light coating of grease or oil to the upper 12 to 14 inches of the lift handle rod, and slide the lift handle tube down over the rod with the top bend pointing to the rear of the tractor.

Remove the rubber cap and the first jam nut from the threaded end of the control cable. Thread the second jam nut approximately 3/4 of an inch from the cable cover end. Insert the threaded cable cover through the cable mount bracket on the lift handle tube, secure with the removed jam nut and replace the rubber cap.

Slide the plastic grip onto the metal lock release grip. Align the holes in the lock release grip with the hole at the bend in the lift handle tube and attach with a bolt and lock nut. Tighten enough to secure the lock release grip while still allowing it to pivot freely. Pull the ball end of the control cable up through the cable end fitting and adjust so that the ball end sits in the curl of the cable end fitting. Use a lock nut to secure the cable end fitting to the bolt protruding from the lock release grip. Tighten enough to secure the cable end while still allowing the assembly to pivot freely.

Pass one end of the blade pivot rod through the hole on the left end of the blade pivot shaft and secure with a cotter pin. Pass the other end of the blade pivot rod through the bracket welded on the lower end of the lift handle tube and secure with a cotter pin. Secure the control cable to the lift handle tube using plastic zip ties, taking care to keep the cable away from the tractor engine. Adjust the control cable as needed by threading jam nuts on the control cable end attached to the lock release grip so that the locking bars release when the grip is depressed. Lubricate all moving parts and pivot points with grease.
