Storms in Our Life
[Philippians 1:12-26]
In the middle of difficulties, how do we respond? What is the first thing that comes into our mind? Naturally, we just dwell with the problem, with the situation itself, thinking over and over about it, but to no progress. And, in this kind of situation, the usual question that we have in our mind is that, "God, why me?" Or "God, I'm a good person, I go to church every Sunday, I follow your words, your commands, why did you let this thing happen to me?" And you start comparing yourself to others, and you start complaining everything to God, forgetting all the blessings that He gave to you. Not knowing that whatever situation that we have, is also a blessing to us. Consider it as another purpose from God, to make us a better person, and a better Christian.
Let me tell you this, there's no exemption for God's purpose. Do not let bad situations dictate what you are, instead, let God and the joy in your heart loving God dictates your personality and your character. Do not dwell too much with the problem; it will cause you to stop from doing your purpose, and will stop you from showing who the source of your joy is. We over think things, that we magnify the problem so much, which is really unnecessary, that we forgot we have a big and strong God. We should continue to believe that we have a God, and we rather have faith than fear. Nothing is impossible to Him. You should ask God's guidance, wisdom and spirit to fulfill the joy in your heart in this kind of situation. If you understand God's love for you, you could easily divert your attention, from the problem to the solution, from fear to trust, from weariness to faith and from confusion to understanding.
How to conquer difficulties in our life? All you need to do is to trust God; that He has a purpose in your life, for all the circumstances and trials that you have. You have to magnify God instead of magnifying the problem. You should show to others that you have a big God, that He can conquer this storm for you. You should continue serving people in the middle of a bad situation, showing them the love of God, and showing them that He is your source of joy in your life. You should pray and ask His guidance. Wait patiently with faith for His answer. God will always answer, a "Yes", a "No" or a "Later", not in your expected way or expected time, but definitely He will answer you, in His own ways and time. And you will only know that He answers you once you understand His purpose, the reason behind everything.
