Armetale Care & Use
- Armetale kitchenware manufactures a long line of useful products, mainly in metal, that are commonly given as wedding presents. From serving platters, bowls and goblets to silverware, trivets and salt/pepper shakers, the company's metalware is either intricately patterned or simply adorned, depending on the price. The company also makes some glassware -- mainly shot glasses. Another newer product is metal grill platters, on which full meals can be prepared on an indoor or outdoor grill, then served without being transferred to another platter.
- Armetale recommends simply cleaning its serveware with a mild detergent and rinsing it with hot water, then towel drying it. Don't put Armetale products, except for glassware, in the dishwasher, since the finish could be destroyed by overexposure to the chemicals in municipal water supplies.
- Armetale serveware can be placed in the oven to heat foods and in the refrigerator or freezer to chill foods before storage. When you're done using your Armetale serveware, however, place any leftover food or liquid in plastic containers before storing it in the refrigerator for long periods. The acids in food, in particular, can damage the metal after prolonged exposure. This is a common precaution with most metal kitchen or dining implements.
- If staining occurs due to acidity from food or accidental time in the dishwasher, a simple fix is available. Make a paste of baking soda and water, then rub it on the serveware evenly with a rag or sponge. Rinse and towel dry the piece. Then, if any stain remains, purchase the company's Armetale Polish to lift the remaining residue and return the product's original shine.
