How to Change Reverse Osmosis Filters
- 1). Evaluate the needs of your particular reverse osmosis system. Determine the number of filters it utilizes. Also, make a note of whether your reverse osmosis system requires the replacement of the entire cylinder or if the cylinders are just cases that open, allowing you to simply replace the filter contained inside.
- 2). Make a list of the types of filters in your system and where they are located within your reverse osmosis system. You will have to install the specific replacement filter types in specific locations, so remaining organized will really simplify the task at hand.
- 3). Not all filters in your reverse osmosis system will need to be changed with the same frequency, so read your system's manual to ensure that you are not wasting money changing filters that still have life left.
- 4). If your reverse osmosis system allows you to simply change the entire filter cylinder, all you need to do is to unscrew the filter cylinder that needs to be changed; then screw in the replacement filter.
- 5). If your reverse osmosis system consists of cylinders that simply house filter cartridges, simply unscrew the entire cylinder (which is really just a filter housing), remove the old filter, replace it with a new filter, and then replace the filter housing cylinder.
