Developing Patterns Of Thought Takes Persistence

"I manifest amazing things." Isn't that a great way to start the day? When you think upon this sentence, leaving your mind open, this magnificent thought will lead to another wonderful uplifting thought and then another, and another. It will be as if you are constructing a pathway to wonderful things. Can't you tell that your day would take on an entirely different flavor by starting out with this one affirmation? Take a moment, focus on that statement and then notice what other great, uplifting thoughts follow. Write them down, repeat them, ponder them. Start creating a new pattern of thought for yourself.

How can you recognize patterns of thought? Here is an experiment: take five minutes and write down some of the things in your life that are not working. Some places to look are your finances, relationships and your job. Are you getting the results you want in every area of your life? If so, congratulations - you are living the life of your dreams! If not, then the manifested results give you an access into what your patterns of thoughts are. Look at your thoughts around finances. What emotional response do those thoughts provoke? If you notice a negative emotional response, then you know you are involved with a thought that will not produce the results you desire. How do you change your results? Change your thoughts. Sound simple? Simple, yes. Easy? Well, that depends on how much practice in persistence you have. Changing your results takes persistence. There is absolutely no substitute for Persistence. Napoleon Hill wrote an entire chapter on Persistence in his book, Think and Grow Rich. Hill demonstrated Persistence by the mere fact that Think and Grow Rich exists. Do you know of other people who spend 20 years of their life writing a world altering book? Calvin Coolidge said this about Persistence, "Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not. Nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not. Unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not. The world is filled with educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan 'Press On' has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race."

To develop the habit of Persistence you must first wants something so intensely that it is a burning desire. Nothing will stand in your way in achieving it. When our wants are weak, we stop at the first obstacle. Take a look in your own life. When have there been times that you have been persistent about something. Analyze that. What was it that had you keep going, not matter what? It was your burning desire. This desire created specific patterns of thought that produced the result you wanted.
