How to Fertilize a Ligustrum Tree
- 1). Measure the drip line of your ligustrum tree. The drip line is the diameter from the tip of the tree branches on the left to the tip of the tree branches on the right.
- 2). Multiply the number of feet the drip line measured by 1 cup. For example, a ligustrum tree with a drip line of 35 feet would require 35 cups of fertilizer.
- 3). Sprinkle the designated amount of fertilizer all the way around the drip line of the ligustrum tree at the start of the spring season. Use an organic 5-3-3 fertilizer.
- 4). Water the fertilizer into the soil with a garden hose.
- 5). Repeat in the beginning of the summer, middle of the summer and again at the beginning of fall.
