Stop - Just Be

There is a saying, "To the quiet mind all things are possible.
" I believe that to be true.
In the hush, problems are dissolved and petty cares are forgotten.
And when the silence ends and life bursts in once more, we are ready to face its challenges and accept all it has to offer.
When was the last time you stopped doing and allowed yourself to just be? For our 5th wedding anniversary my husband and I dropped our son off with his grandmother and drove to the beach.
We had no plans to do anything except get fish and chips and look out over the ocean.
It was a long time coming.
Although we were together, we were both in our own worlds for most of the time, reflecting, contemplating...
just being.
After a long walk hand in hand we drove back to our life and picked up where we left off feeling rejuvenated and cleansed.
John Naish, author of 'Enough: Breaking Free From The World Of More', says "Your mind needs space to think.
It needs to simply be rather than perpetually do.
" Do you find yourself feeling overloaded from time to time? Constantly thinking of things that require your attention? Always adding more and more to your calendar and to-do list? Picking the kids up from here, dropping them off there? Getting frustrated easily? Feeling impatient and on edge? Perhaps it's time to take a breather.
And it doesn't have to be long - just 5 minutes may work for you.
Taking some time to just 'be' will leave you feeling re-energised, refreshed and ready to tackle life again.
It's well worth doing.
What can you do today that will buy you some space and time to just be?
