How to Calculate Gallons Per Minute in Soaker Hoses
- 1). Measure the length of the hose.
- 2). Calculate the amount of gallons per hour the hose will deliver. A typical soaker hose will deliver 30 gallons of water per hour for every 100 feet of hose. For example: if you have 200 feet of hose you would multiply 200 by 30 to determine that you are delivering 6000 gallons of water per hour. Also, if you have 40 feet of hose, you would divide 40 by 30 and discover that you are delivering 1.3 gallons per hour.
- 3). Divide the number of gallons per hour by 60 to determine the number of gallons per minute. For example: 6000 gallons per hour divided by 60 equals 100 gallons per minute.
