Month for Celebration of Life: Enjoy January With Your Baby

With January, we all enter a new year, a new pathway to reach our goals, to fulfill our dreams.
This month opens up to us with a window of all new possibilities, and that is why, probably, this month has been named the "Month for Celebration of Life".
This occasion can bring more joys if there is a baby in your life.
The baby itself is a proof that life isn't half bad, no matter how hard it seems from time to time.
If you can embrace optimistic ways for yourself and the baby while celebrating this month, you can certainly feel the changes throughout the rest of the year.
Start with the Family Day The first day of January, or the new year is considered to be the "Family Day" across the United States.
You can extend it to make a family week instead! The spirit of the holidays should still be there, and everyone else in your family will follow the idea to make everything more about family during this time.
Take fun pictures of your baby with your family and friends in the weekends, when you can have a little lunch party or a get together for some more warmth.
If you are too busy to try all these, try having a fun video chat with the entire family to lift the spirits up.
Keep the Smile Brighter Having a baby is stressful and we all know that.
Most new parents are found complaining about how they have forgotten to smile! Well, it does not have to be that bad if you really do not want to.
Yes, raising a little child is probably the most stressful job in the world, but it is the funniest too! Just imagine, you have a little person in your life, who despite all that dirty diapers and sleepless nights, holds the power to lighten up your mood with one simple toothless smile! Smile is contagious and you have to keep it brighter! In order to celebrate this month, note down every time you smiled seeing your baby smile in your baby journal, or wherever you want to.
Make it a serious mission and keep the tally every day.
When you go to bed at night, or are having a real hard time to manage anger, take out that journal and read the numbers! You will be smiling all over again! Think this is a silly idea? Yes, it is! And that's the beauty of it! The Importance of Optimism Why should you want your child to be an optimist? Because, as Dr.
Martin Seligman explains, "Pessimism (the opposite of optimism) is an entrenched habit of mind that has sweeping and disastrous consequences: depressed mood, resignation, under-achievement and even unexpectedly poor physical health.
" Children with optimistic thinking skills are better able to interpret failure, have a stronger sense of personal mastery and are better able to bounce back when things go wrong in their lives.
Because parents are a major contributor to the thinking styles of their children's developing minds, it is important to adhere optimistic practices to ensure healthy mental habits in your children, from the very early days.
Life happens once to live, and with every passing year, we get a new reason to celebrate! Make this something beautiful, in your own way, for yourself and your baby.
If January ends up being the celebratory month, the rest ones will certainly follow the lead!
