Parents - Thirsty for Love & Care

When a person is healthy and fit, we visit him often and ask him if he needs any help.
But if the same person suffers with ill health, we don't even approach him; let alone rendering help.
Why does this happen in the world? It is because we are selfish.
It is this selfishness which makes us smile at person of sound health and turn back at a person of ailment.
When the real time of need comes, we slowly escape from facing it with the fear of lack of time, money, care or love.
Above all it is because we lack the humanitarian aspect in us.
But what if we continue this fancy trend even in the case of elders or our parents who are old and thirsty for love and care? 'Isn't it their inbound responsibility to look after and raise their children?' so ask so called logical minds.
Yes, our parents bore this responsibility with Love, not out of coercion.
But when they attain old age how do we exhibit our responsibility when it comes to taking care of them? Firstly, the moment they become old and when they stop squeezing their nerves in order to earn a living, it is then that we start ignoring them.
The instant they are ready to depend on us who are their children, we start to feel they are a big burden to our lives.
This crooked thought continues till they leave this earth plane.
What ever they say, we make sure we always oppose it, be it good or bad.
We talk in a brutal manner to them but do we realize if they ever say a word against us, how quickly and negatively we react? We make them cry every moment that they themselves wish to leave this earth as soon as possible.
Why do we neglect such noble souls? If our parents are rich and wealthy, we children will be wealthy too.
But if the children are wealthy, parents still remain poor.
It is because they love to share their positive things in life with us where as, we love to receive only that which is pleasing and good and we in turn love to hate them in their times of sorrow.
Isn't this awful? We make them cry while they are alive but once they are no more, it is then we repent at their absence and start crying all our lives.
Why don't we try to realize their worth when they breathe and in turn stay guilt-free all our lives? At least once in a while, let us convey our 'Thankfulness' to our parents for what they are, for what they have sacrificed and for their constant thoughts of blessings on us.
We think they deserve our negligence for their awful behavior surrounded with their old age.
How many times did we rupture their heart with our sword like words? How many times did we act as per our selfishness? We do not have the right or the age to pin point their mistakes as their little mistakes fade away before our greatest sins.
When we are capable of conveying our love towards our family in some way or the other, why can't we show and shower little love to those old people in need? At this age, they need love and care more than this materialistic 'money'- the energy which is the root cause of differences and chaos in the world of relations.
Let us crush our so called 'Ego' and say sorry to our parents at least once in our lives.
The gratefulness their eyes dispense at such times is awesome.
Our caressing words build permanent 'Love' with in their hearts of 'nests' which are as momentary as ours.
"Shred your selfishness but never your relation of 'Love' with parents and elders.
