How to Use Makeup Techniques for Dark Circles
- 1). Dab a few dots of liquid concealer under each eye and rub it in. Use a concealer that is slightly lighter in shade than your foundation and has a yellowish tone in order to offset the dark color under the eyes.
- 2). Smooth out the concealer with a small makeup brush, but try not to completely rub it in. Use brush strokes starting underneath the inner corner of your eye and extending toward your cheekbone.
- 3). Dab and smooth a light layer of your regular foundation over the concealer and the rest of your face, using a makeup sponge. Use a loose brush and finishing powder (matte not sparkly) over the foundation.
- 4). Line only your upper eyelids so that you draw attention away from the lower portion of your eyes. If you have a darker complexion, use a dark liner, such as a charcoal or dark coffee shade. If you have a fair skin tone, try a lighter brown shade.
- 5). Curl your eyelashes and use a mascara that makes your lashes look as full as possible.
- 6). Keep your brows well-maintained. Pluck any stray hairs or excessive hairs so that that the arch of your brows stands out. This gives the eyes a brighter, more open appearance.
- 7). Use lighter and neutral shades for eyeshadow rather than dark shades. Apply a medium neutral shade to your lid, a lighter neutral shade in the area extending up to your brow and a darker neutral shade on the outer corners of your lids. Use a small makeup brush to apply the eye color.
- 8). Apply a rosy blush that is appropriate for your skin tone. This will help offset the bluish tone of the dark circles and will draw attention away from your under-eye area.
- 9). Apply sunscreen regularly under your eyes and over your entire face in order to keep your skin looking healthy.
