  A quinceañera is an important event for females in many Latin cultures. It is more than just a 15th birthday celebration, it is a rite of passage that warrants a celebration akin to a wedding. The invitations you send out prior to the party will set the tone for the event itself. When choosing the invitations for your quinceañera, consider the theme, colors and overall feel that you want your guests to experience at the party.
  
  

Wording

• Your invitation's wording will be largely dependent on how formal your quinceañera will be. If the party is being funded by a particular person or family, this person's name should be included on the card. For example, the card could read, "The Fernandez family invites you to join in the quinceañera celebration of Maria Anne on Saturday, January 6 at Main Street Park." If your event is less formal, the wording can hint at the event that is in store for the guests. For example, if the party is Mardi Gras-themed, you could include terms such as "Let the good times roll" somewhere in the wording.
  
  

Shape

• The shape you choose for your card may also depend on how formal you choose to make the celebration. If your party is particularly formal or traditional, you may choose to keep your card in an ordinary rectangular or square shape with a script font. If your party is more contemporary and informal, the shape of your invitation can vary, or need not be on a card at all. For example, you could have the information for your party printed on candy bar wrappers that you hand deliver to your guests.
  
  

Color and Graphics

• It is not necessary to match your invitation color scheme to the party's decor, but some hosts choose to do this to give the guests a feel for what the party will be like. The colors you choose may largely be dependent on the season. For example, if you are having a fall quinceañera, it is not unusual to choose colors such as gold, orange, red and brown. These colors can be reflected on your invitation. Graphic elements can also be incorporated in the invitation. For example, if your party is outdoors in a park, you might choose to include an image of a tree on the card.
