    Sewing Thick Material

    • 1). Consult the Husqvarna Viking "Addition to Accessory User's Guide" (see References). You will need to identify your sewing machine model on page "2" to see which types of sewing are available for your machine. In the manual, model numbers are listed next to the instructions for the technique.

    • 2). Snap the flat-felled foot 9 mm foot onto your machine.

    • 3). Place the fabrics you want to sew together under the foot. They should be facing wrong-side up. Start stitching by lightly pushing down the sewing foot pedal.

    • 4). Press the seam to the left side, and stitch a straight stitch by pulling the fabric slowly along under the foot.

    • 5). Snap on the sensor one-step buttonhole foot (some models do not come with this foot). This foot measures the size of the button hole you want, and stitches it automatically. Plug it in near the light on your machine.

    • 6). Line up the white line on the wheel to the white line on the foot. Press the "Buttonhole" button on your machine. Press down the sewing foot pedal to begin stitching. The machine will stitch the buttonhole automatically.

    Hemming

    • 2). Snap the 10 mm hemmer onto the needle plate of your machine. The hemmer works with lightweight or medium weight fabrics.

    • 3). Line up the fabric with the ruler on the hemmer. Press down lightly on the sewing foot pedal to begin stitching. The hemmer will continue folding the fabric evenly, so all you need to do is guide the fabric under the foot.
