How to Set Up pcAnywhere
- 1). Go to the computer that you want to connect to remotely and insert the pcAnywhere disc. Click "Install Symantec pcAnywhere" when the installation utility loads.
- 2). Select your preferred language from the drop-down menu and click "OK." Click "Next."
- 3). Examine the end user license agreement (EULA) for pcAnywhere. If you agree to the terms, select the radio button labeled "I accept the terms in the license agreement." Click "Next" four times, and then click "Install."
- 4). Click "Finish" when the process is complete, and then launch pcAnywhere using the desktop shortcut.
- 5). Click the "Host" link at the bottom of the pcAnywhere window. Click "Next" through the prompts in the window that appears, and then click "Finish." The computer is now waiting for a connection.
- 1). Go to the computer that you want to use to connect to the remote computer. Install Symantec pcAnywhere by repeating the above steps.
- 2). Launch pcAnywhere using the desktop shortcut, and click "Remote Control" on the main menu. Click "Next" in the window that appears.
- 3). Type the IP address (e.g., 192.168.0.1) of the remote computer, and then click "Next."
- 4). Type a name to identify the computer that you are connecting to. The name is used for you only, and can be anything that you like. Click "Next," and then click "Finish."
- 5). Type the user name and password for the remote computer's account that you want to connect with. Click "OK" to connect to the computer.
