    • 1). Open the battery compartment and check your batteries. Replace batteries that show signs of corrosion. If your camera has rechargeable batteries, plug the camera in using the wall adapter to charge them.

    • 2). Remove the battery and replace it after 20 seconds if your camera will not turn-off.

    • 3). Clean dirt and grit from around the camera lens and check for broken parts in your lens mechanism if it is stuck in open position.

    • 4). Move the "On/Off" button to "Off" and then back to "On" if your flash is not showing as "On" when your camera is on. Close the flash when you turn your camera off.

    • 5). Decrease "Exposure Compensation" if your pictures are turning out too light. Leave at least 24 inches between your camera and the subject.

    • 6). Clean the camera lens. Check to see if camera is out of "close-up" mode. Place camera on a flat, steady surface or use a tripod if pictures are coming out fuzzy or unclear.

    • 7). Increase "Exposure Compensation" and turn on "flash" if your photos are too dark. Change the position of the camera so light is not behind the subject or use "Fill" flash mode.

    • 8). Turn on the camera. Wait until "Image Storage" icon stops blinking red if the shutter button doesn't work. Once the blinking stops continue taking pictures.
