How to Visit Seattle, Washington
- 1). Arrive in Seattle, Washington. You can get to Seattle, Washington a number of ways, including train, plane, car, and boat. Amtrak comes through Seattle, Washington. SEATAC (Seattle-Tacoma) is the airport you’d arrive in if coming by plane. You can either rent a car or take a taxi to your hotel and rent a car in the city.
- 2). Find a place to stay. You can stay in a number of different places, including hostels (in state parks), campsites, hotels, bed and breakfasts, or vacation rentals by owners (check out vrbo.com).
- 3). Visit the Space Needle. The Space Needle was built for the 1966 Seattle World’s Fair. It is 605 feet tall and has an observation deck where you can get a 360degree view of the city. The Space Needle also houses the world’s first revolving restaurant.
- 4). Visit Seattle Center. Seattle Center includes the Space Needle, Pacific Science Center, Experience Music Project, and the Children’s Museum. At the Pacific Science Center, there are lots of hands on activities to do. There is also an Imax Movie Theatre at the Pacific Science Center. The Experience Music Project is dedicated to the history of rock n roll and features Jimi Hendrix history, music, and memorabilia. There is also memorabilia from other famous singers as well as televised interviews with the singers. Guests can create their own music in select music rooms. The Children’s Museum offers hands on fun and activities for children and their families. Seattle Center will keep you busy for a couple of days at least.
- 5). Experience Seattle’s Monorail. You can hop on the Monorail at Seattle Center or Westlake Center Mall. he Monorail was built for the 1966 Seattle World’s Fair to transport visitors from Seattle Center to downtown amenities.
- 6). Visit the Woodland Park Zoo. At the zoo, you can see tons of animals, including bears, tigers, lions, monkeys, gorillas, giraffes, zebras, hippos, penguins, flamingos and more. You can feed the giraffes at certain times of the day. You can walk through the butterfly house or ride the historic carousel. There is also a play center for kids called the Zoomazium.
- 7). Visit downtown Seattle and the waterfront. You can enjoy the Seattle Aquarium, the Seattle Art Museum, or Pike Place Market. Take in some seafood at one of the many restaurants along the water or on the pier.
- 8). Visit one of Seattle’s many parks. Take a picnic lunch or dinner and enjoy the sunset at one of Seattle’s parks. You can visit Gas Works Park on Lake Union, Seward Park on Lake Washington, Discovery Park in Magnolia, and many more. Best of all, they are free.
