    • 1). Vacuum up the leaves from your lawn. Most vacuums mulch the leaves while it is vacuuming so there is no need to break up the leaves. Place the leaves in plastic bags and set them aside for future use.

    • 2). Pour one plastic bag of leaves on a 6 by 6 foot section of the garden. With the tiller, till the soil with the leaves just as you would in spring before planting seeds. Make sure the leaves are well distributed before beginning to till the soil.

    • 3). Pour the remaining mulched leaves over the top of the garden soil and rake to an even layer. Let the soil set all winter with the mulched leaves on top.

    • 4). Till the leaves through the soil in the spring and plant your seeds.
