Types of Rose Plants
- These are by far the most popular of the Modern roses. They are characterized by their long pointed buds, and large, well-formed flowers, born singly on long stems. Plants reach a height of 2 1/2 to 5 feet. Climbing hybrid teas can reach a height of 10 to 15 feet.

The plants average 18 to 42 inches tall - Smaller than hybrid teas but larger than miniatures, patio roses are an ideal size for container gardening.
- "Meillandine" miniature rose.
Plants are less than 12 inches tall with blooms that measure less than 1 inch across. They come in all forms, including upright, cascading and climbers. Climbing varieties can reach as high as 12 feet. - Climbing Rose.
Ramblers produce thick clusters of small flowers that only appear in June. True climbers produce their flowers on lateral stems that grow from long gracefully arching canes.
