The Bottom Line

A hefty book that will give hours of happy browsing time. Over 5000 color photographs throughout adds to the enjoyment of the book, as well as hundreds of categories that will surely cover most of the subjects you're interested in.

Since tiny fonts are known to drive me crazy and keep me from buying a book, I'll admit to the text being small, but still quite readable. But, tell me KP Books, what's up with the HUGE fonts in the index.


They're so big you can read the index from across the room!

Guide Review - Antique Trader: Antique & Collectibles 2006 Price Guide

The newest Antique Trader's Antique & Collectibles Price Guide is now available and the heavy book covers a myriad of categories with excellent descriptions and historical information.

Edited by Kyle Husfloen this is America's #1 selling price guide and covers everything from ABC Plates to Writing Accessories.

With all the problems with fakes and reproductions, I was especially pleased to see a full 43 pages devoted to Roseville Pottery, complete with pictures, descriptions, sizes and values. If you come across Roseville Pottery in your travels, this section alone makes the book well-worth the price paid.

New categories for this edition include Chase Brass & Copper Company, Whiting and David purses, Moss lamps, Higgins glass and educational/scientific toys.

Although the book covers just about everything and is stronger with antique items, as opposed to pop-collectibles, I always like to find one really fun/interesting (strange?) listing. From the Mid-Century Modern Design Category: Dyed Turquoise Alpaca Fur Pillow -- value $20 - $35. I think it's an old one of mine!
