Programs are available in medical centers across the country and offer the post-graduate PA student a variety of specialty options. Programs generally span about one to one-and-a-half years.The post-grad PA student completes a didactic phase of study consisting of lectures and conferences and then completes a clinical phase of rotations through different departments within the medical center.
  
  

The Albert Einstein Emergency Medical Center -- EM PA Residency

• The Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, offers an 18-month post-graduate program for physicians assistants. PAs in the program have the option of completing a six-month fellowship in a specialty area such as ultrasound, EMS or toxicity. • Montefiore Medical Center is located in Bronx, New York, and offers a 14-month program with a class size of 10. The program starts with a two-month didactic phase, including lectures and conferences, and continues with 11 four-week rotations. PAs then complete rotations of four to five months of general surgery, three months at surgical specialties and one month each of emergency room at a level I trauma center, cardiothoracic surgery and peripheral vascular surgery.
