101 3
I decided to transform my front yard first since it was much easier than the back yard. The front of your home is your first impression that makes a lasting one. I enjoy seeing my yard neat, clean and beautiful. I just didn't have the money to hire professional to take care of my yard every week. On top of my full-time job, blogging and being a full-time mom, I do enjoy gardening. You will see me outside mowing my yard, pulling weeds, planting flowers and trimming around my home. By working on your yard yourself you can save hundreds of dollars per year.

To save money landscaping your yard, head out to places like Home Depot, Lowes or your local landscaping business. Look for plants that are marked down up to 50% off. Many times they mark plants down that don't look appealing and need some love. When you get home just plant them and add water. They will come back to life and you saved yourself from paying full price.

When shopping for landscaping plants, look for the smaller version. Most shrubs, trees or roses come in smaller pots for half the price. In a few months they will grow much larger and you saved much more money that purchases the larger versions. Best time to buy is at the end of the season, when stores want to get rid of plants for the upcoming holiday season. Many times you can find plants marked down up to 75% off.

Check out your local city or look in your classified ads. Many times companies or your local city has an overabundance of trees, mulch, compost and dirt. The only stipulation is you have to haul it away yourself.

Look around your yard and see if you can divide your perennials. Perennials are plants that grow back every year and are very low to maintain. Divide grasses, vines, bulbs and perennials with friends and neighbors so you don't have to spend money on plants. You can easily split and plant them around your yard for more landscaping. Make sure you plant them deep enough and give them plenty of water to grow.

By using some of these tips, you can save a large amount of money. Remember it doesn't take overnight to transform your yard. Working on your yard a little bit every weekend or week night makes a big difference. You home will become the beautiful yard you've always wanted.
