    Identification

    • Moleskin fabric is a rugged cotton made with a twill weave. It has a nap on one side, which fabric makers shear so that it is soft and resembles suede.

    History

    • Moleskin fabric became popular in England with the rise of the cotton industry. Moleskin proved to be a durable fabric suitable for worker's pants and jackets.

    Benefits

    • Moleskin fabric is incredibly soft but is also long wearing and substantial. Clothing made from moleskin is suitable to wear in cold weather as well as in moderate to warm weather.

    Care of Moleskin

    • Moleskin fabric is easy to clean and care for. It can be dry cleaned but fares better when it is machine washed and line dried, as the fabric does not wear down as much.

    First Aid

    • You can use moleskin as a foot bandage to help prevent blisters. Cover irritated parts of the foot with moleskin before blisters have a chance to form fully.
