How to Create Your Family Reunion Website
- 1). Decide on the features you would like to include on your family reunion website. For example, you can feature a blog, a forum, a chat room or a message board. You can also have video or photo upload capacity and secure payment processing to collect family reunion dues or donations.
- 2). Settle on which family member(s) will be responsible for managing the site. It might be easier to have more than one family member charged with this responsibility. Assign management duties to different relatives for specific areas of the site. For example, one family member can write the blog, and another can update the message board with reunion updates.
- 3). Choose a domain name (Web address). Pick a name that will be easy for your family members to remember. Verify that the domain name is available by entering it in checkdomain.com and clicking "Enter."

- 5). Create your basic website design. Many Web hosts offer site-building tools that allow you to create a website even if you're unfamiliar with HTML. With this tool, you simply scroll through a menu of prefabricated designs to select a color, font and motif for your site.
- 6). Write your site content. Along with news about the reunion, consider including a family tree, reunion schedule, proposed food menu, an RSVP list, maps and directions to reunion events and family contact information.
- 7). Publish your website. Your reunion website will not be accessible on the Internet unless it's actually published. If you design your website using your Web host's design features, there will be an option to publish the site at the end of the design process. If you design your website yourself, upload your files to your Web host's server.
