Fun Alcohol Gifts

    Drinking Games

    • Drinking games are the classic college way to have "fun" with alcohol. The basic requirement is a simple deck of cards, but there are game kits available for purchase from many bookstores and online boutiques. Books containing various drinking games can also be found at most large bookstores.

    Shakers and Sets

    • Additions to home bar sets are always welcome gifts, especially if they are unique or of nice quality. Cocktail shakers, class sets, stirring rods, muddlers, cocktail umbrellas, straws, wine charms, bottle openers, table coasters and virtually anything related to alcohol can be bundled together in a set or given separately. Look for items that match the personality of the recipient, such as a cocktail glass decorated with painted purses, shoes and sparkles for a woman who loves shopping.

    Personalized Shot Glasses

    • Shot glasses are cliché gifts, but rather than giving random novelty shot glasses stating "Arizona" or "Yellowstone," consider glasses that are personalized to reflect the individual's character, or are monogrammed with their initials or a message stating "Happy 21st!"

    Samplers

    • Sampler sets consist of a variety of different liquors, beers or wines in miniature size. Most liquor stores sell small bottles, the size you would find in a hotel minibar, in large baskets. For a beer sampler, the proper size of a can or bottle can be used. Small 75 ml wine bottles can also be found at most liquor stores. Package samplers in a gift basket or box.

    Mixes

    • Cocktail mixes are fun gifts to present when attending a cocktail party or other event where the gift can be put to use right away. Many classic drinks such as the lemon drop, daiquiri, margarita, piña colada and Bloody Mary can all be found ready to go in bottles. These mixes require only the addition of alcohol and ice. Package the mixes in a gift bag or stick them in a small gift basket with small tokens such as napkins, glass charms and rim salts.

    The Whole Bottle

    • Sometimes the best gift is the simplest and most straight to the point. Whole bottles of the recipient's favorite wine, vodka, rum, tequila or a six pack of beer undoubtedly can create just as much or more fun than any novelty gift. Wine or specialty alcohol gift bags are available from most paper and gift wrapping store aisles. A simple bow tied around the neck of the bottle can be just as presentable.
