Caring for Fresh Flowers
Flowers, fluttering and fascinating, they hold the power to stop tears.
They holdthe power to make a child smile.
They even hold the power to please God!They open up their arms for everyone, from the smallest bees to the humming birds to humans with equal alacrity.
They are ever ready, to be packaged for a date, to melt the heart of the mad wifey, to be offered to the deities.
Such is their destiny.
Yet, not many understand flowers, particularly when it comes to caring for them.
Real care begins from the time when seeds are sowed.
Its better to get a personal gardener if you don't have adequate knowledge about flowers and seasons till you learn fully about them.
Also, it is an art to take care of your fresh flowers in the flower vase, so they live longer.
Most flowers live for about 5-7 days, depending upon the arrangement and the care they receive.
You must ensure that the vase is filled with water and flower victuals supplied by your florist.
These are developed to keep the flowers at their vibrant best.
However one important tip to be kept in mind is the mixing of the flower food with water, which is specified in the flower food packets.
This, if not adhered to properly, may not give effective results.
Care must be taken not to dip the flower stems in hazy and unclear solutions either.
If that happens you have to cut the stem, with a sharp knife or clipper ensuring that the stem is not crushed, by about one or two inches diagonally, and put the flowers back into the fresh, clear solutions.
Most importantly, avoid putting flowers in direct sunlight, over television sets or radiators or any other heat producing objects which will rob the flowers off its moisture.
Also avoid keeping them directly under air condition ducts.
