Guide Review - Louisiana Grills Country Smokers Whole Hog
When you need a cooker big enough for a whole hog, well, it can be a challenge. If you buy one, then you are generally stuck with a piece of cooking equipment that you might use once a year.
Firing that cooker up for a few burgers on the weekend or even a few racks of ribs seems like a huge waste of fuel and time. The great thing about the Louisiana Grills Whole Hog pellet grill is that there is a divider that fits in the middle of the unit and an independent pellet control unit on each side. This means that only half the unit needs to be fired up if there is no need for the whole 1,200 square inches of primary grilling space.
The truth is that this design actually makes more sense that just this. The standard pellet unit simply can't produce enough heat to big something this size up to temperature, especially considering that this is not an insulated pellet grill. There actually has to be two fire pots and hence two of pretty much everything just to get all this space hot. So why not put them on opposite sides and add a removable divider between the two.
But wait! There's more. Since this can be two pellet grills at once and since there is also a direct fire broiler included, this pellet grill can be slow smoking a few whole briskets on one side and high temperature grilling steaks on the other. This configuration may not be for everyone, but for those that need something like this, it is a good design.
Of course, at around $3,000USD all this doesn't come cheap, especially when you consider that this is basically two Louisiana Grills CS-680 pellet grills welded together. You can get a lot of pellet grill for this price, so it is best to make sure that this is what you are after before making this kind of investment.
