Juverderm Side Effects
- Juvederm is the only approved hyaluronic acid dermal filler. Three formulations of Juvederm have been approved by the FDA for the treatment of wrinkles: Juvederm 24HV (contouring and volumizing), Juvederm 30HV (deeper wrinkles) and Juvederm 30 (subtle correction).
- Dermal fillers made with hyaluronic acid are among the fastest-growing group of products available for the treatment of wrinkles. Hyaluronic acid occurs naturally within the body and has been used for other treatments (such as the knee) for over 20 years.
- One of the side effects of Juvederm is pain around the site of the injection. It is common to feel pain and experience bruising in this area, but it should subside within seven days.
- Juvederm can cause temporary lumps and bumps under the injection site. These are generally mild and usually resolve within one or two weeks after the injection.
- Redness may be present at the site of the injection, and may last for seven days or less. There may be some swelling, but it usually subsides within a few days.
