How to Insert a Verizon Broadband Card in Dell
- 1). Locate the PC card (PCMCIA) or ExpressCard slot on your Dell computer. For a never-used slot, a protective plastic piece shaped like a card may need to be removed. To use an ExpressCard slot, remove the PC card adapter from the Verizon mobile broadband card (you may need to give the adapter a hard pull). Do not insert the Verizon card in the slot until prompted by the VZAccess Manager software during setup.
- 2). Turn on your computer. Close all applications. Insert the VZAccess Manager software CD in the CD drive. If the program does not start automatically, click the "Start" button and select "Run." Type "D:\Start" (or, if your CD drive is not D, substitute the letter for your CD drive). Click "OK."
- 3). Install VZAccess Manager by following the directions on the screen.
- 4). Click the VZAccess Manager icon on the desktop. Set up VZAccess Manager by following the directions. When prompted, insert the Verizon broadband card in the slot. You will hear a click. Its antenna will stick out. Complete the setup process and click "Finish."
- 5). Open VZAccess Manager. Begin the connection process by clicking the "Connect" button on the main screen. Select your Verizon mobile broadband service plan from the options listed. Open your Internet browser upon connection.
- 6). Click "Disconnect" in VZAccess Manager and the wireless broadband service will close.
- 7). Launch Verizon mobile broadband service at any time by opening VZAccess Manager and clicking "Connect."
