Hi, I'm Julia. I'm a hair stylist in Los Angeles, and I'm going to show you today how to do a great old school glamour hair style. So as you can see I've curled the entire head and I clipped up all the curls to allow them to cool down and set. I'm going to do another spray of light hold hair spray. And by this point they've already cooled down. I've had them up here for a little while. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to start releasing them down where I started curling them. All right so once you have all the clips out, what you want to do is I like to take a small brush like this, do a light spritz of light hold hair spray. And slowly start to brush out the curls. That wave pattern is starting to appear. The style doesn't have a lot of lift, it doesn't have a lot of tease, it doesn't have a lot of piecing it out so it looks messy. This is a very specific look so as you go, you sort of want to move the hair in the direction that you want it to go and then you're going to sort of seal it with a good hair spray. I also like a little bit of a serum. Just maybe like a dime sized amount in the middle of your palm. Rub it together and you can sort of use that to sort of get the last piece of the hair controlled because you don't want it to sort of frizz out. You want it to be nice and controlled. Now with the side you can sort of do a couple things. I often like to push it behind the ear. I think that looks a little more glamorous. And then I like to finish with the hair spray once again. And I like to make sure the side piece is a little bit pushed down. I also like this front piece to have a little bit of a push right there. You can sort of create that just with your fingers and a little bit of hair spray if you need to. So there you go. You've got a great old school glamour hair style.
