How to Cut Chipboard Corners
- 1). Wipe down a table with a clean rag. Dampen the rag if necessary and remove all dirt and debris from the surface. Dry off the area before setting the piece of chipboard down on top.
- 2). Measure the piece of chipboard with a tape measure and mark the cut location with a pencil. Line up a T-square at the corner and draw a straight line across the corner at the desired cut location, carefully following along the T-square so you can easily make a straight cut.
- 3). Set the chipboard down on the clean surface and verify it sits evenly. Check that there is nothing underneath the chipboard that could affect the cut when you are making it.
- 4). Line up a hobby knife, such as a craft knife or small utility knife, at the corner along the cut line. Move the knife into the chipboard and cut carefully along the line. Move across the line, being careful to stay directly on the line at all times. Continue cutting the corner until you reach the other end.
- 5). Pull off the cut piece by hand once you reach the end and set it aside. Repeat the process for any other pieces that you need to cut to size.
