How to Set an Alarm on the PC

    • 1). Open the Scheduled Task Wizard by clicking on Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Scheduled Task.

    • 2). Click "Add Schedule Task" to start the wizard. The first screen is an introduction to the wizard. Click "Next" to continue.

    • 3). Click "Browse" to locate the PC program you wish to serve as your alarm. This can be any file associated with any executable program on your PC--including MP3 files. A common location for MP3 in the Windows file system is in the My Documents/My Music folder. If an MP3 is selected, your default media player will open when your alarm sounds and will play the song you selected. Click "Next" after you make your selection.

    • 4). Give your alarm a name in the text box. Select how often you want to this alarm to go off; several options are provided. For this example, "Daily" was chosen. Click "Next" when you have completed this step.

    • 5). Select the time and frequency you want the alarm to go off. For example, if you want the alarm to initiate at 1 p.m. on weekdays only, enter 1:00 PM in the time box and select the weekday only option. Select when you want the alarm to start and click "Next" to continue.

    • 6). Enter your name and password; the Windows login id will be displayed. Set a password. To make it easy to remember, set it to your Windows login password. Click "Next".

    • 7). View the "Advance Properties" to adjust the settings of you Alarm Scheduled Task. The final screen of the Schedule Task Wizard will show you a summary of the alarm task created. Click "Finish" and your alarm will sound on the days and time for which you you set it.

    • 8). Return to the "Schedule Task" window to modify or delete your alarm. Double click your task to modify it. Right click on your task and scroll to delete to remove it.
