Video: How to Light a Pumpkin

Our finished pumpkin is looking pretty freaky. One last garnish effect, if you will, is to take the pumpkin seeds that we saved and you can make these basically look as if your pumpkin's not only having a painful day; he's also quite sick. Keep in mind that this effect should probably only last one to two days. This is probably best done on the day of Halloween if you can do it. Otherwise, this organic matter is going to start to get a little gross. So, I don't recommend doing any of the pumpkin seed, kind of, extra vomit effect unless it's like the day of or maybe the day before. Of course our pumpkin looks pretty freaky in the daylight, or in the dark. In the dark, all of our hard carving work will come out as you have a light source behind your pumpkin which is going to illuminate all of the intricate lines or curves that we've carved in with our knife and carving kit. Now, you can use....of course, you can use candles as a light source for your pumpkin. Another alternative is getting lots of glow sticks. I do recommend having at least three if you want them for your pumpkin, and keep in mind, they will probably lose their glow effect after one evening. It will start getting, it will start diminishing over time. So, in general, if you're not worried about fire hazards (this is not like near any dry kindling or anything along those lines), candles are still a very good way to go for your alternative pumpkin.
