World Globe
Unfortunately I don't have the luxury of going to antique and collectible shows every weekend, we just don't have them that often. But I do like to visit Buchanan Markets Antiques and Collectibles Shows. They are in the area about once a month, admission is $3. and there are usually a few hundred dealers showing their wares.
The first treasure I found, right as went in the door, was unfortunately marked SOLD.
It's probably a good thing, I have no room for it anyway.
This large globe came from an elementary school and is about 18" high.
Price -- $25.
Folk Art Tiled Pots
The same booth had these fun pots, I missed them the first time through and didn't see them until my second trip around. They appear to be tiled with broken china and pottery pieces. These did come home with me!
The planters are approximately 9" high and were $20. each.
Folk Art Tiled Pots - Close-up
A closer look at the tiled planters or pots. Each had a design made from broken pottery and china pieces.
St. Peter's Basilica
This was an amazing find that did not come home with me. Approximately five feet long and maybe 24" tall at it's highest, this was certainly a labor of love for the craftsman that created the building. It appears to be a re-creation of St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City. The dealer was told that it was used in a movie and it could have been a church in Florence, but doesn't have anymore information on that.
At one time the building had electricity and the windows would be lit up.
It could use a bit of restoration, but personally I would leave it as-is.
There are pews in the main hall and a bell in the steeple. The top domes lift off, apparently for ease in moving as there is nothing visible when removed. (The gold crosses are not a part of the structure.)
If I had a place to properly showcase this, I would certainly have given it serious thought and I'm not even Catholic!
Price $1000.

Thanks to dealer Cody Nelsen for allowing me to take pictures.
St. Peter's Basilica -- Another View
Another view of the building.
This set of three mixing bowls also caught my eye, but stayed in the dealer's booth. The middle size bowl had a hairline crack.
Price was $60. for the set.
