How to Get a Copy of a Texas Marriage License
- 1). Visit the county courthouse in the county where the original marriage license was issued. This may or may not be the same county you were actually married in.
- 2). Ask the county courthouse clerk for an “Application For Copy Of Marriage Record.” Some of the county courthouses will also allow you to download and print a blank application online through the county courthouse website.
- 3). Complete the application. Submit the application, along with the processing fee to the county clerk. As of June 2010, the processing fee cost an average of $1.00 to $9.00, depending upon the county and whether or not you are requesting a certified copy or regular copy of the license.
- 4). Wait to receive a copy of your Texas marriage license. You will receive it before leaving the courthouse.
