How to Clean Freestanding Ice Makers
- 1). Squirt a stainless steel cleaner, if you have a stainless steel model, on a soft cloth and wipe it along the front of the exterior until it appears clean.
- 2). Wipe the door, grille and outer cabinet with a soft cloth or sponge dampened with a mild detergent and warm water.
- 3). Rinse off any soap residue, using a damp cloth.
- 4). Wipe with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth to dry the ice maker and remove any spots.
- 1). Unplug the ice maker's power cord and remove all ice from inside before cleaning its interior.
- 2). Wipe the interior and storage bin with a soft cloth or sponge moistened with warm water and a mild detergent.
- 3). Fill a sink with 1 gallon of warm water and 1 tbsp. of bleach. Place the bin in the solution for a few minutes to sanitize it. Rinse it well after it soaks. Dry it thoroughly before placing it back in the ice maker.
- 4). Rinse the interior with a damp cloth to remove any soap residue.
- 1). Loosen and remove the screws on the grille on the front of the condenser, using a screwdriver. Lift the grille from the condenser and set it aside.
- 2). Connect one of the attachments on your vacuum to its hose --- choose an attachment that can easily reach in between the coils.
- 3). Move the attachment back and forth along the length of the coils until they are clean.
- 4). Wipe the grille with a cloth dampened with warm water and a mild detergent. Dry the grille thoroughly and replace it on the condenser.
