How to Remove Captive Bead Rings

    • 1). Insert your ring opening pliers into the ring you would like to remove. The ring will fit into the grooves cut into the pliers to hold it in place while removing.

    • 2). Squeeze the handles of the opening pliers until they are putting only enough pressure on the ring to keep it from moving around.

    • 3). Open the ball grabber tool so the small grabber hoops on the end stick out from the top of the tool.

    • 4). Slip the small hoops of the ball grabber tool around the ball of your captive bead ring. This tool will hold the ball so you don't lose it when the ring is opened.

    • 5). Apply a little more pressure to the ring opening pliers and begin to pull away with the ball grabber tool. The ball will easily come out of the ring and be held by the grabber tool so it is not lost.
