How to Wind a Bobbin on a Singer 604E
- 1). Turn the hand wheel to raise the needle to the highest position. This will give you room to work with the reel holder underneath the presser foot.
- 2). Insert an empty bobbin into the reel holder. Slide the metal plate open with your fingernail and lift the reel latch. Remove the existing bobbin if one is already inserted. Place the empty bobbin in the holder, wide end up, and close the latch.
- 3). Pull thread through the needle and loop over the screw on the side of the presser foot. Hold the thread tightly. Push the reel wind button down and press the foot pedal to run the machine. Thread will wind around the bobbin. Stop the machine when the bobbin is full.
- 4). Move the reel wind button to the left to release it. The machine is now back in sew mode. Close the metal slide plate and begin sewing.
