    • 1). Use the rubbing alcohol to help remove any stickers that may be on the plate. Be careful not to scratch the glass during this process. After removing any stickers, clean the back of the plate using rubbing alcohol and a lint-free towel to remove any grease and dirt without any residue that soap may leave behind.

    • 2). Take the printout of the design you chose and place it on the front of the plate facing toward the back. When you flip the plate over the image should be facing you. Tape down the edge of the picture to ensure that it will not move while you are painting.

    • 3). Begin painting by outlining the design using craft paintbrushes and the acrylic paint color of your choice. Try one color for a silhouette design or many for a burst of color on designs with more details.

    • 4). Allow the paint dry for a few minutes after outlining to ensure that the outline stays defined. Once dry, use the same paint color to fill in the rest of the design. It may take multiple layers of paint to achieve the depth of color you are looking for. Be sure to wait at least 30 minutes between coats.

    • 5). Take the taped picture off of the plate before you start to spray paint. Place the plate on cardboard or newspaper with the back still facing up. Do this outside or in a well ventilated area to avoid breathing in fumes. Spray paint thin coats of the color you chose, making sure to wait 10 minutes between coats. After all the coats of spray paint are on, wait an hour before the next step.

    • 6). Spray at least three coats of clear acrylic coating spray, waiting 10 minutes between coats. Let the plate dry for an hour before using it. At last, you have finished creating your one of a kind plate!
